After running full service retreats for 10 years, WHY Retreat is offering a lower cost alternative for those who would like a relaxing holiday with a yoga focus. Your Yoga and Hiking Homestay retreat will feel more like a family visit, and offer a more intimate connection to your host, Jo.
You will be staying in the beautiful WHY Retreat accommodation, with stunning views and access to all the amenities such as spa pool, sauna and delicious meals. You will have one Yoga class and meditation every day, with access to all the fabulous hikes that the WHY 6 day Yoga and Hiking r retreat is famous for. As a homestay, you will be helping to prepare some of the meals. This gives you a great opportunity to chat about nutrition and take home some inspiration and recipes for vegetarian meals.
A limited number of participants keeps things relaxed, so you are able to adjust your activities to suit your desires from day to day. If weather permits, kayaks and paddle boards can be arranged. You can also add in extras such as personal health coaching, an extra yoga class, or a massage at additional cost. 

After your morning yoga class, the pristine beaches, native bush and iconic landscape of the Whangarei Heads Peninsula await you. All levels of fitness can be nurtured and challenged in this  Yoga and hiking retreat. Hikes range from flat beach walks to 5 hour mountain trails.
Your choice of room is well appointed and includes all linen. Enjoy panoramic views from a private deck off the guest lounge.
Your host is passionate about healthy food, and puts flare and imagination as well as taste into the vegetarian meals prepared fresh for you. Food sensitivities and special dietary requirements are no problem. Jo is happy to share her recipes and open to meal time discussions about nutrition.

Choose your stay 3 to 5 nights

Early morning - pop out to Ocean Beach for sunrise, or sleep in and relax. You can  also enjoy the lighting as the sun comes over Mt Manaia
Morning Yoga - Class structured to suit your level
Breakfast and Lunch - Self cater (ingredients provided) at a time that suits you
Afternoon - Chill on the deck or at the beach, embark on one of the many hikes in the area or book an additional activity (extra cost) such as massage or personal session
Dinner - Jo will create a delicious vegetarian meal. Option to help -and take advantage of her knowledge about nutrition
Evening - Take a stroll to the waters edge to watch the sunset, enjoy stargazing from the spa pool, or join Jo for a guided meditation.


Costs :

NOTE – Your health and safety are protected at WHY and we undertake strict cleaning protocols. Shared rooms are available for friends and family, otherwise you will enjoy a private room. Bookings can be accepted for between 3 to 5 nights, Thursday through Tuesday. (Retreat closed Tuesday and Wednesday nights).

Please note - arrival is after lunch  and departure time is before lunch. Alternate times can be arranged on request.
