The Mindfulness Meditation Introductory Workshop is a one-day event designed for individuals interested in gaining the life-transforming benefits of the ancient practice known as mindfulness meditation. Over the last five decades, more than a thousand publications have documented the manifold physiological and psychological benefits of meditation, from boosting immunity and increasing longevity to enhancing mental acuity and improving emotional resilience.

In this one-day workshop taught by meditation teacher and teacher trainer Lyn Villanueva Fulache, participants will:

  • learn what mindfulness is and what it is not;
  • understand the power that mindfulness meditation has for allowing us to address the pressures and stressors of modern life with ease and grace and to even unlock our full human potential;
  • distinguish between formal and informal mindfulness practices;
  • explore foundational mindfulness practices such as the body scan, breath awareness, mindful eating, mindful walking, etc.;
  • discover how to cultivate mindfulness-related qualities such as loving-kindness, compassion and gratitude;
  • learn how to handle the most common challenges in and obstacles to establishing a regular practice.
  •
    The workshop will combine interactive lectures, guided practice sessions and small group discussions. The workshop fee includes a handout and open-ended email support. No previous meditation experience or ability is required to participate in the Mindfulness Meditation Introductory Workshop.
